REGULATION
1. Each Massage Therapist will compete in 2 categories
2. Non-English speaking participants may bring their own translator for briefings and general communications to the Judges.
3. Dress Code: Participants may wear custom clothing or any other national outfit appropriate for the category. Shoes are not recommended for massage where the practitioner is on the table.
4. Participants must bring their own setting sheets, towels, tools, massage oil and essential oils.
5. The massage recipient must wear underwear at all times and have their chest covered (if female). It is recommended that any untreated areas are covered.
6. No cameras are allowed during the rounds and the final. Unauthorized use of cameras and recordings may result in expulsion.
7. Insurance: This is your personal insurance that covers both you and the recipient you assist during the competition.
8. There is a zero tolerance policy regarding inappropriate behavior. Any massage of a sensual/sexual nature will result in immediate disqualification and expulsion from the Championship.
9. All participants are required to receive massages, in addition to giving massages. If necessary, MIM (Italian Massage Movement) will source suitable candidates/recipients of massage in special cases.
10. Chiropractic or osteopathic manipulations are not allowed during the competition.
11. MIM (Italian Massage Movement) decides the music that will be played during the Italian Massage Contest. Most of it will be inspired by the choices of Chiara Napoli, expert sound system and music technician.
12. Beginners participants will not participate in the final but will receive a gold medal for first place, silver for second place and bronze for third place.
13. Judges will evaluate participants based on these criteria:
Technique Ergonomics
Flow
Innovation and development of new massage methods
Verbal and non-verbal contact with the client
Table setting,
hygiene and uniform of the participant
Covering of the container
